Ambience, location, value for money

Hotel did not have much veg or Asian spread and whatever they have oa not authentic Indian. Lot of scope to improve on this. But manageable not so bad either. But they have very good continental and srilankan spread

The room was huge and very clean with a nice view of the pool and the river. The hotel is just beside the Manali river and has good views of it.

They had a great variety of food but as we are vegetarians we found the taste of the food to be a little different from Indian cuisine.

Beautiful Old fashioned hotel. Attentive staff. Good buffe , I recommened the chef that makes Fried rice and Fries noodles.

Check in was a bit slow

Excellent rooms, swimmming pool and other outdoor areas. Very good food including breakfast. We choose the hotel partly becourse there was a tennis court, which was acceptable but not quite even!

Breakfast: Would like more choice of cold to drink (water, juice). The coffie served at the table was warm and good, but the coffie you took from the large cylinder was not hot enough.

Beautiful gardens/pool area with fantastic views of the river. Amazing breakfast and staff - Anjali was particularly lovely and helped to organise a birthday cake for my boyfriend! Also nice to be outside of Kandy for our stay - a TukTuk to Kandy from the hotel was about 1000 LKR

Some areas felt a bit tired, but didn’t affect the overall experience

Room was spacious with a great view & amenities. Beds were very comfortable. The breakfast & dinner spread were excellent together with the service staff too. Will definitely return again.

Architecture, the swimming pool, river side. Multiple plug types for power. Fridge and vault. Bath robes. The buffet breakfast and dinner was good.

Room was not clean, cobwebs, ripped and stained chairs, old and hard mattresses, broken flushing, rusted and old bathroom fittings. Guests have to walk in the rain from reception to rooms - no cover. For the money and for the five star status, this is not good. Staff were friendly but the state of the rooms were old and run down. Not cleaned well. We had a mattress that had a metal spring sticking out and a toilet that continued to give us issues for flushing even after getting the site plumber to fix it. Even with all the lights on, room was still dark. Beds were not comfortable for a good night sleep. Most of the TV channels were bad (pixelated) and loosing connection, so couldn't watch, why? Should recognise as a 4 or 3 1/2 star. Weirdly this five star grand hotel does not have enough tea spoons in the restaurant. There were many dessert options you would need a small tea spoon, but couldn't find them anywhere, during dinner or breakfast. Was told to use what was on the table, which was too big. Asked the staff, they looked everywhere for a tea spoon and ended up washing a one that was in a serving platter which was given to me. How bizarre? Later to test it out, I ask for two tea spoons to room, (didn't have any), only to receive a single one. So if you are staying here, take a tea spoon with you? I'm still very confused about this spoon issue.

Bad toilets, uncomfortable bed

Beautiful property with amazing pool. Room overlooked the river as well as lily pond with wrap around balcony. Very comfortable and good sized room.

Food layout needs improving. Staff needs to be better informed about in-house as well as city attractions.

Le personnel fait vraiment tout pour votre satisfaction, ils sont aux petits soins et très sympathiques. Les buffets petit-déjeuner et dîner étaient très bons mais pas très bien organisés La piscine est immense, propre et rafraîchissante. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables Très beau cadre, jardin illuminé très romantique. Les tables près de la rivière offrent une magnifique vue Le rapport qualité prix est bon et l'hôtel vaut le déplacement. Nous y retournerions.

Les tapis dans la chambre vraiment sales... ils sont inutiles en plus, mieux vaudrait les retirer. Quand l'hôtel est loué pour des manifestations tels que des mariages, les clients sont relégués au second plan... pas accès au jardin, au buffet principal ni aux tables en extérieur. Même si la salle du haut est sympa, on se retrouve enfermés... dommage

un membre du personnel, certainement en formation, ne comprenait pas bien l’anglais ce qui a rendu le service du petit déjeuner laborieux. mais cela n’est arrivé qu’une seule fois et le problème a été réglé rapidement par le reste de l’équipe

Toller Pool,gute Lage

Die Sauberkeit im Speisesaal lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig, sehr alte fettige Oberflächen und Fußböden, das Essen ist immer kalt.

Beim Zimmerwechsel und auch bei unserem Bezahlproblem hat uns Hr. Isuru sehr geholfen!!

Das Hotel ist weit entfernt von den angegebenen Sternen. Heruntergewohnt. Es müsste in alles investiert werden. Beginnend bei den Fenstern und Türen, die nicht richtig schließen. Die Couch und die Sessel waren so speckig, dass man sich äußerst ungern hinein setzt. Im Restaurant gab es mehr Bedienstete als Gäste, aber man musste mehrfach nachfragen, um z.B. Kaffee gebracht zu bekommen. Die Azubis standen herum und sagte nur "self-service" . . . .
